***UPDATE*** Lifetime Movie "The Wronged Man"

I have an UPDATE on the release of the Lifetime movie I filmed, "The Wronged Man."

"The Wronged Man" will premiere THIS SUNDAY, JANUARY 17, 2010 at 8:00PM ET on Lifetime.

NOT THIS SATURDAY, as I originally posted.

There are three encore broadcasts as well:
1. Sunday, January 17 at 12:00AM ET/11:00PM CT
2. Monday, January 18 at 8:00PM ET/7:00PM CT
3. Monday, January 18 at 12:00AM ET/11:00PM CT

While I'm always a bit iffy with how film stuff turns out, I am excited to see this finished product.  Lifetime is really changing up some of their content:  I'm pretty sure this will not be your typical Lifetime chick-flick.

"Renowned actress Julia Ormond(Legends of the Fall, Sabrina) will headline The Wronged Man, an unforgettable story of justice and redemption.....Mahershalalhashbaz Ali(The 4400), Ormond’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button co-star, also joins the cast as an African-American husband and father convicted of raping a young girl. The film is based on the true story of an unlikely friendship between paralegal Janet Gregory (Ormond) and Calvin Willis (Ali) as they fight to overturn his sentence and restore faith in the justice system....

Janet Gregory (Ormond), a single-mother with a haunting past, is a paralegal struggling to overcome doubts about Calvin Willis (Ali), an African-American husband and father wrongfully accused of raping a neighborhood girl. Oh yeah, I play Vicky Tanner, the lawyer that makes the case for Willis.  See?  I did actually get to be a lawyer and I didn't even have to go to law school for it after all! :)

Movie "The Wronged Man"

Hello my friends.....thanks to all for bugging me, um, keeping me on my toes about this movie "The Wronged Man."  Can't seem to stay on top of things lately for some reason!

The original November 2009 release has now been pushed to January 2010.

"The Wronged Man" will premiere Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 8:00 PM ET on Lifetime.

In case you blinked...

...or even if you didn't, you probably had a hard time seeing my "appearance" on Army Wives.  It was pretty disappointing.  I think I was on screen for a total of about 3.3 seconds.  And you never could see my face.  Oh well...thanks to everyone who tuned in anyways!  At least I got a nice paycheck and a credit!

Starting rehearsals for Dracula next week.  It runs from October 7 through November 2, with a possible extension.  So if you're in the area, make sure you check it out!  Spoooooooky!!!

A Few Army Wives Pix

Just wanted to share a few pictures from Charleston taken right after we filmed our scene.  Pictured are Mike Stoudt (my boyfriend in the scene) and Nataly (my daughter, who totally stole the scene...what a cutie!).  We were a little wiped out after the shooting, what with all the screaming and pushing and slapping and glass breaking.  But as you can see, my "costume" held up pretty well.  They definitely had me channeling some Madonna and Desperately Seeking Susan in a major way...some pretty serious blackmail material if you ask me.  Will let you know when the episode airs.

Army Wives

Hooray!  I got my first role in a "real" series!  OK, so it's a really, really small role, a flashback scene, actually, which means you probably won't be able to blink or you'll miss me, but it's still a role with speaking lines!  Oops, forgot to mention that it's for "Army Wives" on Lifetime.  And it's a younger version of a fairly main character (Marda) so there is the minuscule chance that the role could be recurring...who knows.  They've been trying to get me in on a role that's not just a one-timer, but I'm ready to do this already!  So it'll be fun regardless (it's a flashback to the 80's so they're dyeing my hair to look 80's-ish...yes!) 

I was gonna say that this will be my first gig on national TV, but how could I forget my 3 seconds of fame drinking milk on the Colbert Report?? (Ah, the infamous "Pus-Head" moment...)  And supposedly you can see the Christian sitcom across the country and in places like Singapore (but I'm not telling you the channels!)  The gig for "Army Wives" should be exciting, for sure, especially since I'm playing a drunk...did I mention that?  Yep.  A drunk.

I'll keep ya posted on how it goes.  In the meantime, I'm a pretty happy camper with some theatre work coming up.  In October and November I'll be doing Bram Stoker's "Dracula" at the Aurora Theatre.  In December, they are bringing back "It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play" at Theatrical Outfit.  And in March and April I'll be in the musical "Tent Meeting," also at Theatrical Outfit.  Fun times!

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that while I was living in Japan.....well, I'd have a whole lot of nickels.  (Apparently, the Japanese just love a good Western).  Anyhow, I'm back, at least partially.  I haven't been blogging in WAY too long and I miss it.  I've been needing a good outlet lately and writing is such a great way to relieve a little stress!  So, hopefully, much more blogging to come!

I've been working on an independent film lately that's kept me pretty busy.  We've had a nice two-week break, and we'll pick up again this weekend.  It's been interesting, to say the least.  It's great experience, a lead role, feature-length, I'm meeting tons of fabulous people, but it's also been very trying, as I don't care much at all for the script.  Did I just write that?!?  But it's true.  And I'm learning a TON.  I'll post some pictures soon.

Shad and I have also been working on a short film with a friend of ours and that's filming this weekend, as well.  Should be a fun project.  Pictures of that to follow, too.

Wanna see my latest claim to fame?  Check out my glowing three and a half seconds of fame on the Colbert Report. Watch the "Milk & Hormones" video (April 18, 200&).  And don't all be jealous at once...it takes a damn talented actress to drink milk like that.

Besides my Pus-Head appearance on national television, not much else going on.  But, as always, it won't take long before something crazy happens.  Until then...

Blaine's Pain

If you don't watch TV (or you're just completely out of touch with the world, kind of like me), then maybe you missed magician David Blaine trying to break a world record by holding his breath for 9 minutes, completely submersed in a big tank of water (and handcuffed in 8 places, and basically a floating prune after "living" in the tank for a hundred and seventy-something hours beforehand...).  Well, I got suckered into watching as they managed to stretch 9 minutes into 2 hours (and yes, I watched the whole thing).  Man, he looked like he was in pain.  Have you ever tried to hold your breath that long?  Of course not. You are probably a normal human being who appreciates and understands why we have lungs and not gills.  But curiosity always kills the cat, they say.  (Don't worry, I'm still alive.)  So I timed myself along with Blaine.  One minute and twenty-three seconds...You know, it looks a lot easier than it is.  But I am certain that if I were submersed in water, where they say you can actually hold your breath longer, I could've pulled off 9 minutes, in my bathtub, easy.  Go ahead, try it.  Try to break MY record.  (I will not be held responsible for the outcome.)  I really just like to imagine everyone trying to hold themselves completely underwater in a little bathtub.  Kinda funny image, actually.  But since David Blaine is a professional, I guess I'll leave the record-breaking up to him.  I'll go devote myself to the eating glass trick instead.
